Description

In Haudenosaunee culture, the Sunflower was the first creation made by the Creator, as he dwelled in the twilight of the Waterworld and needed light to grow his corn. He planted Sunflowers, gave them the gift of light and they provided the warmth & energy needed for his corn to grow tall and strong. Today the sunflower is planted at the edge of the cornfield, and you can watch the flower's head follow the path of the Sun across the sky, remembering the first responsibility they were given.
